Sal's Shoes Volunteers
Sal's Shoes
We collect good-condition, pre-worn, outgrown shoes from across the UK. Via our network of grassroots partners we distribute these shoes to those who need them most - both overseas and across the UK. We are the only charity in the UK who does what we do.
We are entirely volunteer-led, no-one takes a salary. We are a small organisation with a big reach.
Who we support:
Across the UK: There are 4.2 million children living in poverty in the UK. Its estimated 1.7 million children attend school in badly-fitting, unclean and incorrect clothing. Demand for our shoes is soaring.
Since March 2020 we have distributed over 25,000 pairs of shoes across the UK.
Via our network of schools and community partners we support disadvantaged and vulnerable people: children experiencing poverty, domestic violence refuges, homeless shelters, refugee/asylum seeker support centres, young carers
Overseas: An estimated 300 million children around the world go barefoot, leaving them vulnerable to infection and injury. We work in 49 countries across the world, distributing 2.5 million pairs of shoes to date via our network of community partners.
