The charity provides a home to disadvantaged veterans and their families from all over the UK through their intergenerational Kent village, which comprises specially adapted flats for injured veterans, family homes, assisted living accommodation, two luxury care homes, a specialist dementia facility, and emergency accommodation for homeless veterans. RBLI implements a unique, holistic welfare model, called STEP-IN, which provides residents with a tailored plan to overcome complex challenges and regain their independence. The charity also operates two socially-thriving, commercially-successful social enterprises. Together these two factories, based in Kent and Scotland, provide meaningful, rewarding employment opportunities to injured and disadvantaged military veterans and people with disabilities. The charity is currently embarking on the most expansive development in its history. The Centenary Village is a £22m development which will see the charity provide a home to hundreds more veterans every year for the next 100 years. This past year, RBLI took its largest ever stride in building a basis for another century of support.
