PINK Orange
Access Community Trust
Created in June 2020, PINK Orange directly fights back against food poverty for children and their households facing #holiday hunger. In the last year, the project has supported 26000 children and delivered to 13554 families across Suffolk and Norfolk, whilst also creating work placements for 18 young people during school holiday periods.
The service involves weekly deliveries of simple ingredient kits to FSM children and those facing intense hardship during this period of uncertainty. Each PINK Orange kit contains all-inclusive recipe cards and easy to follow video tutorials tailored to young people. Alongside essential food provision, the kits directly engage with children around learning about ingredients, healthy living and how to cook on a budget. Furthermore, each box contains an activity/craft pack, helpful supportive and signposting literature around household mental health, domestic abuse, LGBTQ+ support, pathways to employment for older members of the family and free access to sanitary goods as required for young people.
PINK Orange has built a growing community of Members for its free supportive services. Whilst the initial offering supports immediate need, each kit offers far more in added value to support the entire household through learning valuable life skills and signposting assistance.
