National Youth Arts Trust

National Youth Arts Trust is a low cost, low risk and high impact small charity, founded in 2013 in response to funding cuts in the arts industry which widens access to performing arts for the most disadvantaged young people aged 7 to 25 by giving bursaries across UK, running youth theatre projects in the most multiply deprived locations in the UK, providing free theatre tickets for school children who most often have never been to the theatre before and running high quality mentoring scheme for underprivileged young people trying to break into the arts industry.

More than 2000 young people have accessed arts via NYAT since 2013. Until 2023, we have awarded 453 bursaries, 433 youth theatre opportunities, 579 free theatre tickets, 119 youth musical theatre opportunities. We have also run youth theatre for 48 young offenders in Medway. In 2023 alone, a total of over 400 underprivileged young children accessed arts across UK, thanks to NYAT.

Our vision is an inclusive performing arts sector that nurtures talent from any background, where no talented young performer is prevented from reaching their potential because of economic disadvantage or a lack of opportunity in their area.
