LISA FRESHWATER

Lisa Freshwater is a worthy winner of this award, for her role as Director of Organisational Effectiveness at Blood Cancer UK. When Lisa joined the organisation, she joined a charity with a poor culture, low morale and ineffective processes. She has led a transformation in the way that the charity works, implementing an IT revolution, mentoring senior colleagues, putting in place agile working processes, instilling a more open and honest culture and playing a key role in governance and stakeholder management.

Under Lisa's leadership, the percentage of staff who would recommend Blood Cancer UK as a good place to work has increased from 41% in December 2018 to 86% in March 2020 and staff turnover has dropped dramatically. She does a huge amount to ensure we have the right processes, people and systems deliver the maximum possible benefit for people affected by blood cancer.
