Jayne Taylor

The Elephant Group is a headteacher-led charity established in 2018 to harness the power of collaboration between school leaders, the education sector, and industry and charity partners to improve access to higher education and support social justice across the UK by providing non-selective state school students with resources, information and exposure to opportunities that are not readily available to them.

Jayne possesses extensive knowledge of the university sector and Widening Access to Higher Education specifically, having worked in university Access and Recruitment for over 20 years. However, it is her commitment to equity of access to HE and her passion for ensuring that all young people have the opportunity to reach their potential that is really remarkable. Whilst the third sector faces challenges, Jayne’s innovation and commitment have seen the organisation grow from strength to strength; under her leadership she has nurtured a culture of hard work and positive change which has seen the organisation double in reach whilst optimising the quality and impact of delivery. Jayne has also worked with other organisations to create and deliver The MetaMethod, metacognition programmes designed to support students in their learning, revision, and time management while supporting the development of core life skills.
