Incredible Kids
Incredible Kids helps disabled children and their families smile, make friends and have fun. Through play and support sessions all year round, we make sure no family with a disabled child feels alone. For young people aged 0-25 we provide a special place with trained playworkers, enthusiastic volunteers and parent training. Throughout the pandemic, Incredible Kids continued to provide a service, initially through delivering craft and activity packs direct to families but quickly moved to face to face sessions as soon as the regulations allowed. Incredible Kids created new small groups to allow isolated families to get out and meet other people.
For our charity the past 12 months have been incredibly challenging. As a small charity specialising in grass-roots face to face support for disabled or life-limited children and their families this year has required a dramatic change in the way that we deliver and reach our beneficiaries.
As an organisation founded and run by parents of disabled children, we were intrinsically aware that the unfolding crisis would place disproportionate pressures on disabled people, children and caregivers. We have worked closely with our community to continually monitor and understand the extent of the effect of this crisis on them.
