Georgina Ann Elizabeth Carr
The Neurological Alliance
In her first year as CEO, Georgina Carr has transformed the fortunes of the Neurological Alliance while also launching a new national project giving the one in six people living with a neurological condition the opportunity to share their stories and experiences to transform neurological service across the NHS. All this happened successfully despite COVID 19.
Georgina would be a worthy winner - she has been the lynch-pin in driving forward the work of the Alliance in the most challenging of circumstances.
She joined the Alliance early in 2020, after excelling as Head of External Affairs at the MS Society. Georgina hit the ground running in her first CEO role, bringing energy, vision and collaborative working practice to the fore.
The Alliance is a coalition of more than 70 membership organisations representing people with a range of neurological conditions.
The Alliance therefore needs to be a highly collaborative organisation whose success depends on building and sustaining professional relationships. As the impact of the pandemic raged, it was vital to have a leader who was capable of influencing and inspiring stakeholders around the emerging Covid response agenda whilst exercising diplomacy. And with the added challenge of having to do this virtually.
