Gemma's Story

Gemma’s Story gives a voice to victims of coercive control and stalking. Leading researchers Prof. Nancy Lombard and Dr. Katy Proctor from GCU didn’t want the data they’d gathered on the lived experience of victims as they progressed through the criminal justice system to gather dust on academics’ bookshelves. They wanted to make sure that lessons are learned and changes are made to the system that is supposed to provide justice and keep people safe. The script for the animation Gemma’s Story has been produced using direct quotes from the research participants. It is harrowing, thought-provoking and designed to make a difference.
