Free Being Me (FBM)
World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts & Dove
The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and the Dove Self-Esteem Project forged a unique partnership in 2013 launching the Free Being Me (FBM) programme to empower a generation with the freedom to be themselves.
This exciting partnership brings together the Dove Self-Esteem Project’s mission of improving young people’s body confidence and self-esteem and the non-formal education expertise, global reach and girl-led advocacy of WAGGGS, with the research prowess of the University of the West of England’s Centre for Appearance Research.
Since 2013, the programme has reached over 6.5 million young people with life changing body confidence and self-esteem education, and advocacy, and aims to reach a further 3 million by 2025. Together this unique partnership aims to create a world free from appearance-related discrimination and anxiety for girls.
