Creating potential lifesavers through Restart a Heart Day

AIR AMBULANCE CHARITY KENT SURREY SUSSEX

Every child, and every adult, has the potential to save a life. They just need to know how.

On Restart a Heart Day in October 2023, Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) aimed to equip as many people as possible with the skills to provide lifesaving CPR. They hosted online live CPR awareness sessions, led by critical care doctors and paramedics, reaching 17,000 individuals from schools, businesses, and individuals. The initiative addressed the critical issue of cardiac arrest away from a hospital, where survival rates are low without immediate CPR or defibrillation. The sessions equipped children and adults with essential skills to act in an emergency and generated significant media coverage. KSS achieved 29 pieces reaching a total audience of 5.3 million and a potential online audience of 132 million. KSS's mission was to create a widespread awareness that anyone can play a vital role in saving lives by knowing how to deliver CPR.
