Changing Places Toilets

Muscular Dystrophy UK

Muscular Dystrophy UK is the leading charity for more than 110,000 people living with one of over 60 muscle wasting or weakening conditions. For some people we support, a standard accessible toilet doesn’t meet their needs, that’s why we’re proud to be the co-chair of the Changing Places Consortium.

The consortium is home to the Changing Places campaign, calling for more Changing Places toilets to be installed in all public spaces across the UK.

Changing Places toilets provide a lifeline for people within the muscle wasting and weakening community and the wider pan disability community. Including essential equipment; a ceiling hoist, peninsular toilet, height adjustable changing bench and adult-sized changing bench, making them accessible to a wider range of people and making all the difference.

No one should have to limit their choices about where they can go, the activities they do or the services they can access because they can’t use the toilet. That’s why we’re work together with campaigners, advocates, third party stakeholders, governing bodies and corporate organisations to ensure we have a big impact and help make a difference.
