Blood Cancer UK
Blood Cancer UK
Blood Cancer UK deserves to win the large Charity of the Year award because it has been a game-changing year for the charity. The charity has received several big donations, including a seven-figure partnership with Omaze. It also raised over £2.8m for treatments into Multiple Myeloma, thanks to a partnership with Matthew Wilson. Overall, the charity increased its fundraising from £12.8m in 2021/22 to £17.8m to 2022/23.
This success has been underpinned by a relentless focus on culture, which has resulted in 98% of staff saying they are proud to work for the charity, while Flexa recently named Blood Cancer UK as the charity sector’s most flexible charity. With an ambitious new five-year strategy in place, and an aim to make sure that no-one dies from blood cancer or its treatment within 30 years, Blood Cancer UK is on a journey to triple the amount of money the charity spends on life-saving research over the next few years.
