We recognise that the finance sector is key to unlocking the private funding needed to tackle the climate crisis and build healthier, more resilient ecosystems. We also understand the importance of positive change from governments and international organisations in leading the move to a sustainable economy.

In 2021, we joined forces with Aviva, one of the UK’s leading Insurance, Wealth, and Retirement Businesses so that we could work together to restore UK Landscapes, build healthier more resilient communities, and help transform one of the biggest indirect drivers of climate change: the UK finance sector.

Aviva has provided us with the credibility and reach needed to lead the way in financial services and this, combined with WWF’s expertise and network of sustainable finance specialists, has enabled us to engage the finance industry and influence policymakers. Together, we have created real world change at policy level, built climate and flood resilience for communities by harnessing natural solutions, empowered disadvantaged communities to protect their local nature, conducted critical research into carbon capture and inspired hundreds of Aviva colleagues through volunteering, fundraising, and education.
