Amy Nuttall

The Brain Tumour Charity

Amy, best known for her appearances in Mr Bates vs The Post Office, in Emmerdale and international hit series, Downton Abbey, became a cherished celebrity supporter of The Brain Tumour Charity in January 2024.

What’s less known is Amy’s talent as a singer and after tragically losing her beloved mum, Elaine, to a glioblastoma brain tumour in October 2023, Amy went on to release the fundraising track ‘Thank You Mother’, on Mother’s Day 2024. This brought with it media opportunities to further raise awareness and to showcase Amy as our newest celebrity supporter.

Amy also sang ‘Thank You Mother’ as a VIP guest at the prestigious Smiley Charity Film Awards in Leicester Square and she has returned to social media specifically to amplify the charity’s work. Her first activity was to spearheaded our call for a National Brain Tumour Strategy during Brain Tumour Awareness Month in March and, that same month, she took part, alongside her dad and nephew, in our flagship fundraising event, The Twilight Walk in London – setting off all other walkers.

Amy’s warmth and understanding embodies our values and she is determined to help us drive improvements to treatment, research, and diagnosis for everyone affected.
