Alder Hey Children's Charity

Alder Hey Children’s Charity raises vital funds to help make Alder Hey Children's Hospital a world-class, patient-friendly hospital, providing life-saving equipment and facilities, essential research into children’s diseases and creating magical moments for the 330,000 patients and families cared for every year.

In 2022/3 Alder Hey Children’s Charity successfully completed its 7-in-10 Appeal to raise £3 million for a new, state of the art Children’s Mental Health Unit on site at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. The Charity also raised over 80% towards its next appeal for a world class Neo-Natal Surgical Unit on site. In total £7.8million was raised, 12% over target. The success is down to the hard work, dedication and passion of the entire charity team and their ability to adapt and make swift decisions empowered by strong leadership and backed by a supportive board. During the Covid pandemic Alder Hey Children’s Charity took the brave decision to invest in, rather than cut back on, its people. As we emerged from the pandemic, albeit into a war torn continent and subsequent cost of living crisis, the Charity has learned lessons to enable it to maintain and subsequently grow income across all areas of fundraising.
